Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival |
Starts at 7pm. A colourful illuminated procession of over 150
entrants, many large vehicles with many thousands of lights, which can take
2-3 hours to complete. Many photographic opportunities but get there early
to get a good spot at the front. |

Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival - Squibbing |
10:45pm after the carnival procession around 150
Squibbers are involved in a simultaneous firing of large fireworks. They
line Bridgwater High Street two wide and all light their squibs at the same
time. The large firework is strapped to a cosh, and the squibbers hold it at
arms length above their heads. |

Tar Barrels |
Ottery St Mary, Devon. Rolling starts at 4.30pm, finishing at midnight.
An annual event where barrels are soaked with tar and lit and carried on peoples back through the
streets. Starts late afternoon with junior barrels, the size of the adult
barrels grow until the final enormous one is carried at Midnight. There is
also a gigantic 30ft bonfire and fairground. |

Starts at Hyde Park, London at 6.58am. First pair of cars built before 1905
leave and then the rest follow in pairs until all have left. Will start to
arrive in Preston Park, Brighton from 10am onwards. |

Weston Super Mare,
Somerset.
Starts 7.15pm. A Circular route that travels down Beach Road (A370),
starting at Locking Road car park. Following a different route this year,
due to work being carried out on the sea defences. A good reason to go to
the seaside in the winter. |

Putney, London. 10am. From Chiswick Bridge to Putney Pier. An annual veterans 4's rowing event over the same
course as the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race. Also includes a non-veteran
and junior events. |

Lord Mayors Show -
London |
Guildhall, London. Starts 11am. A
street parade watched by the
new Lord Mayor from outside of Mansion House. The parade includes horses, floats, motor vehicles, marching bands and carriages. It takes about one hour to pass. The Lord
Mayor follows at the end of the procession in his golden coach. The
procession travels past
St Paul's
Cathedral and ends at the Royal Courts of Justice in Aldwych. At 1.00pm the
procession returns, starting near
Temple
tube station, and following Victoria Embankment and Queen Victoria Street
back to the Guildhall, finishing at about 2:30pm. Fireworks over the Thames
at 5:15pm between Blackfriars and Waterloo. |
