Nottingham Riverside Festival

Race The Train

Tywyn, Mid Wales. Race the Train takes place alongside the route taken by the Talyllyn Railway on its journey to Abergynolwyn and back, covering 14 miles. In order to do this all courses use a mixture of public roads and private land, across multi terrains. The train takes about 1 hour 47 mins for the return journey.

South Ronaldsay Boys Ploughing Match

South Ronaldsay, Orkney, Scotland. This event re-enacts the traditions of the heavy horse ploughing matches, and takes place on the 3rd Saturday of August. Children dress in costumes to replicate the horse in it's finery and the boys plough with miniature ploughs in the sand.
