Article A look at the Sharpness Masterclass
For those who have mastered the basics of photography, and want to now move on to look at aspects in greater detail there are the Masterclasses. Masterclasses are a day long, and are about 40% theory and 60% practical experiments to get to understand the application fully. They are run one to one, and you will usually be able to fix a day that is convenient to you. The sharpness Masterclass covers a very wide range or topics associated with both taking sharper images, understanding why images may not appear sharp under some conditions and the software and other solutions to overcome this. One of the major areas is depth of field and although this is covered on the Hands On A Nikon day, time is not available to look at this in such depth. Those who attend the sharpness Masterclass are given a booklet containing depth of field tables, as well as several other tables, and shown in detail how to use this information to both understand when problems may exist and how to cope with more challenging situations. They also look at other techniques that allow you to combine parts of images to gain depth of field that cannot be obtained by a single photograph. So if you would like to have sharper images and avoid some images being out of focus, and particularly if it occurs but you don’t understand why, then this is the Masterclass for you.
