At Milecastle 49, Harrow's Scar Milecastle, you will find a long section of the Wall, rebuilt in stone later in Hadrian’s reign. It is linked to Birdoswald Roman Fort, and a footbridge takes you beyond this over the river to Willowford Bridge.
