Starlings

Order: Passeriformes Family: Sturnidae Links: Starlings

Starlings are small to medium-sized passerine birds with strong feet. Their flight is strong and direct and most are very gregarious. There are about 114 species worldwide with 2 in Britain. 

It is the staling (common) that performs aerial ballets, that are seen as large flocks of birds (often millions), flying in formation, before roosting in reed beds.
