Tower Mill - WindmillNapton on the Hill, Warwickshire Tower mill , now a house, still has sails it can be photographed with canal. When we visited From the canal we got good views and took quite a lot of different combinations of locks, canal bridges etc with the windmill in the background, using a long lens to close up the distance. I got both good view and upright shots, and this is what makes this windmill special. The image of the front from closer was taken with a long lens from a road position, you can get around the front into the field as a footpath runs through it. I didn't try this as there were a lot of horses in the access field, many having foals, and although they should have been okay to walk through, they were very friendly, and clustered around the gate when we approached, but I had children with me who were not keen on going through them. There is a chance that you could find yourself too close to the hedge, and the field in front drops away, so it may be that the position I chose provided the best view of the front. From the back (middle shot above) you get a good view across a field, again you need a fairly long lens to achieve this. A footpath goes down a lane that leads to the house/windmill, it then goes to the right of the property and around to the front. I got a variety of shots from the lane but as you get nearer to the house there are more obstacles, you can't get a good view nearby. Further information Grid
