Dating from around 1721, the mill was moved to this site from further down
the hill in 1829-30. It has a two storey brick roundhouse which contains much
original equipment and was last working in 1912.
It is said that the local villagers prefer the sails to face south, which
adds to the attractive view of the mill looking north from Braintree.
