Photo from Geograph Private track to Walney Lighthouse. The area east of the South Walney Nature Reserve track is not accessible (officially) to visitors. But you would have to go down it to ask if you could go down it, wouldn't you.!!!

Hipsford Spit Port Hand Marker With Walney lighthouse behind. Taken from grid ref SD235613 Multimap Photo by Arnold Price Said to be a superb place to see breeding Gulls, Eider Ducks and Oyster Catchers, as well as colonies of Seals. In 2002 it was said that the lighthouse had been converted to automatic operation and the two cottages sold. Its not on the Trinity House website so I don't know if it's still in use or who runs it.
